Tonight at 9:30 pm Image will participate in the 22nd edition of Videominuto at the Centro per l'arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato, Italy with a program of architecture videos titled "Architecture at the edge of the city".

Simone Muscolino, Francesco Monaco, Cliostraat, Alejandro Aravena, Francesca Benedetto, Federico Bernocchi, Davide Rapp, TYIN tegnestue Architects, Juan Carlos Lorza, Giancarlo Mazzanti Arquitectos, Pablo Casals Aguirre, Hexa\Video, SoWhat will help the audience to look at these places where an extraordinary propensity for change exists, but is often nullified by indifference or oblivion. And architecture itself is often incapable of treasuring such potential. The eyes of those who inhabit our peripheries are beautiful, as are those of the nomads as they are used to searching. At the same time, as we explore these places which we often describe with words that merely express the absence of something, the cameras open up to stories and landscapes that are dense with emotions and tensions. And these are not the social tensions we are used to witness as they burst into inevitable conflicts sometimes.

After the screening, Andrea Mi and Marco Brizzi will coordinate a discussion on the topic of "mending our peripheries" with Massimo Alvisi, Eloisa Susanna, Francesco Lorenzo, Simone Mangani, Valerio Barberis, Massimo Bressan, Angelo Formichella, Stefano Pezzato.

"DESIGN BY VIDEO": video screening at the Milano Design Film Festival.

On Sunday October 12 Marco Brizzi, Image director, will be guest of the Milano Design Film Festival with an architecture video program titled "DESIGN BY VIDEO". In conversation with him will be Franco Raggi and Alessandro Scandurra, architects, and Filippo Romano, photographer.

The "DESIGN BY VIDEO" program, specifically crafted for this edition of the Milano Design Film Festival, aims at offering to the public a survey of some of the most interesting experiments in the field of architecture videos in the last 15 years. From "Möbius House" by UNStudio in 1999 to the most recent video by Gabriel Kogan and Pedro Kok for "Casa Redux" by Studio Mk27.

Image has been following the evolution of this phenomenon, collecting and selecting the most convincing videos made by architects or by authors directly involved by the designers, since 1997, when Marco Brizzi started the BEYOND MEDIA festival in Florence, Italy. The festival launched an intense and methodical search for original contents to be shared in a series of venues to trigger discussions with experts in various fields, involving wide audiences.

On Wednesday October 1 Image will be at the MAXXI museum in Rome, Italy with a program of architecture video screenings titled "PUBLIC SYMPHONIES. Practices on public space in 10 architecture videos". Projects for public spaces are being conceived starting from video investigations, in order to be later observed by means of the same tool that takes advantage, more and more today, of the widespread diffusion offered by social media. The documentary approach that characterized cinematographic research as it accompanied the birth of the metropolis and of the contemporary city adapts and transforms itself into a generative phenomenon that favors the spectator's participation. The program includes videos by Luis Urculo, Cristobal Palma, Pablo Casals-Aguirre, Taller de Casquería, Giancarlo Mazzanti, TYIN tegnestue, Langarita-Navarro, Imagen Subliminal, Pedro Kok, Francesca Benedetto, Federico Bernocchi, Davide Rapp. The video program is scheduled to be screened on Wednesday October 1 at 8 pm at the MAXXI museum in Rome, Italy and will be associated with a conversation between Marco Brizzi, Image director, Giovanni Piperno, film director and photographer, and Alberto Iacovoni, architect.

On Wednesday September 24 Image will be at the MAXXI museum in Rome with a program of architecture video screenings titled "HAUNTED HOUSES. 10 videos on houses in search for the spirit of architecture". Ever since architects have become familiar with video as a tool, their way of observing and describing residential spaces opened up to a new awareness.

The gaze of the video authors chosen for this original program searches for new symbolic implications and fresh narrations: from Pablo Curto to Luis Urculo, from FR-EE Fernando Romero Enterprise to Imagen Subliminal, Gabriel Kogan, Pedro Kok, Paul Nicholls - Factory Fifteen, Andrés Jaque / Office for Political Innovation, 11h45, Pablo Casals Aguirre. "HAUNTED HOUSES" shows how architects today are using video to depict behaviors, to unravel paths that may stimulate imagination, to consecrate the spaces they designed to communication and to history. The video program is scheduled to be screened on Wednesday September 20 at 8 pm at the MAXXI museum in Rome, Italy and will be associated with a conversation between Marco Brizzi, Image director, Trixie Zitkowsky, set designer, and Luca Galofaro, architect.
