BAUMSCHLAGER EBERLE ARCHITEKTEN AND SCAPE / GREEN OFFICE ENJOY PARIS BATIGNOLLES

Behind every challenge, there is a method. Erecting an office building with a wooden framework in the 17th arrondissement in Paris – the first of its kind in the capital – represented an unprecedented and stimulating challenge. The architects Baumschlager Eberle Architekten and SCAPE therefore did their utmost in order to imagine a project that was not only unquestionably sustainable, but in harmony with its unique urban location as well. Facing the uncovered steel railroad tracks shooting out of the Saint-Lazare train station, the building, called “Enjoy”, takes advantage of both the railroad landscape and an open horizon in order to assert itself like a figurehead; it emphatically announces the new Paris Batignolles neighborhood for those arriving from the west by train.
